Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) middleweight champion Anderson “The Spider” Silva retained his title belt with a technical knockout victory over great rival Chael Sonnen in the main event of UFC 148 in Las Vegas.
Sonnen picked up right where he left off, taking Silva to the mat and working his ground-and-pound. In the second, Anderson Silva hurt Sonnen with a vicious knee to the body and unloaded with punches for the win.
It was Silva’s 10th straight successful defense of his UFC title. “The Spider” remains undefeated inside the Octagon, with a 15-0 UFC record.
